A nation wide campaign is launched for raising awareness and education of children on the use of safer internet

Within the project for "Safer and better Internet for Children in Albania", the National Authority for Electronic Certification and Cyber Security (AKCESK) in close partnership with UNICEF and the Ministry of Education Sports and Youth, launched on November 12, 2018, the national campaign for raising awareness and educating children to safer internet usage. This campaign focuses on educating children to become "peer educators" in the use of secure internet, in order to develop other trainings to convey this knowledge to other children

The first school that opened this campaign was the school "26 Nëntori", in Tirana. In this one-day training, 26 students of seventh and eighth grade attended. During the training, the children were very active in discussions, debates and opinions.

The topics of the training are summarized in a manual designed for this category and for this purpose. It deals with terms such as CyberBuling, online Grooming etc, which are also illustrated with videos. Children are advised of the dangers they may face on the Internet, how to handle them, and where to ask for help.
